Acceptable Use Policy

What you may not do with this website or with the HYRO name, and what happens if you do it anyway.

Last updated 6 October 2026

This policy applies to everybody who accesses this website, with or without an invitation, and it forms part of our Terms of Service.

Most of it is what you would expect. We set it out anyway, because a stated rule is enforceable and an assumed one is not.

General obligation

You must use this website lawfully, for its intended purpose, and in a way that does not harm us, the website, or anybody else using it. You are responsible for everything done through your connection or your device.

Prohibited: unlawful and harmful use

  • breaking any applicable law, including the Cybersecurity Act, 2020 (Act 1038) and the Electronic Transactions Act, 2008 (Act 772);
  • using the website to facilitate fraud, deception, money laundering, terrorist financing or sanctions evasion;
  • harassing, threatening, defaming or abusing any person, including our staff;
  • uploading or transmitting anything unlawful, obscene, hateful or defamatory, or anything you have no right to send;
  • infringing the intellectual property, privacy or confidentiality rights of any person.

Prohibited: attacks on the website

  • accessing, or attempting to access, any part of the website, server, account or system that is not intentionally made available to you;
  • probing, scanning, penetration testing or stress testing the website or its infrastructure without our prior written permission;
  • introducing any virus, worm, trojan, logic bomb, keystroke logger, spyware or other malicious code;
  • denial of service activity, flooding, or any attempt to interrupt, degrade or overload the website;
  • circumventing, disabling or interfering with any security feature, access control, rate limit or authentication mechanism;
  • intercepting, altering or interfering with communications between the website and any user.

Prohibited: automated and extractive use

  • scraping, crawling, spidering, harvesting or systematically extracting content or data, except by a conventional search engine that respects our published crawl rules;
  • using any bot, script or automated means to submit the waitlist form, or submitting the same or multiple addresses repeatedly;
  • using this website or data derived from it to train, fine tune, evaluate or develop any machine learning model, large language model or other artificial intelligence system, without our prior written consent;
  • reverse engineering, decompiling or disassembling any part of the website, except to the limited extent the law permits and cannot exclude;
  • copying, republishing, redistributing, framing, mirroring or reselling any part of the website, or presenting it as your own;
  • removing, obscuring or altering any copyright, trademark or proprietary notice.

Prohibited: misuse of the waitlist

  • submitting an email address that is not yours or that you are not entitled to submit;
  • submitting false, disposable, generated or deliberately malformed addresses;
  • submitting another person’s address in order to subscribe them without their knowledge;
  • attempting to inject code, commands or markup through the form.

Prohibited: misuse of our name

The HYRO name and logo are our property. Impersonating us is the conduct most likely to cause real harm to real people, so we treat it as the most serious breach of this policy.

  • holding yourself out as HYRO Exchange Ghana Ltd, as an employee, agent, representative, reseller, partner or affiliate of ours, when you are not;
  • registering or using any domain name, social media handle, application name, group, channel or business name that incorporates or imitates our name or branding;
  • cloning or copying this website, or creating a site, application, group or channel designed to be mistaken for ours;
  • using our name or branding in any scheme that solicits money, virtual assets, credentials, seed phrases, private keys or identity documents from any person;
  • claiming a partnership, endorsement, license, approval or regulatory status for HYRO that we have not stated ourselves on this website;
  • using our name or branding in advertising, a token, a listing, a signals group or a managed account service.

We pursue impersonation. That includes takedown requests to registrars, hosts, app stores and platforms, reports to the Ghana Police Service and other authorities, and proceedings for injunctive relief and damages. If you are the victim of an impersonation scheme using our name, please tell us at security@hyro.to so that we can act on it.

Security research and responsible disclosure

We welcome genuine security reports. We do not currently run a paid bug bounty program, and submitting a report does not create an entitlement to payment.

If you believe you have found a vulnerability:

  • report it to security@hyro.to with enough detail for us to reproduce it;
  • give us a reasonable period to fix it before you tell anybody else;
  • do not access, modify, download or retain data belonging to us or to any other person;
  • do not degrade the service, and do not run automated scanning that disrupts availability;
  • do not demand payment in exchange for withholding or disclosing a finding, which we treat as extortion rather than research.

If you act in good faith within these limits, we will not pursue you for the testing itself, and we will credit you if you want to be credited. Testing outside these limits is not research and is a breach of this policy.

How we enforce this

Where we consider on reasonable grounds that this policy has been breached, we may:

  • block or restrict access from an address, network or device, with or without notice;
  • remove or refuse any submission, and delete any data submitted in breach of this policy;
  • preserve and disclose relevant logs and records to law enforcement, a regulator or a court;
  • issue takedown and removal requests to registrars, hosts and platforms;
  • bring legal proceedings, including for an injunction, damages and costs.

The list of prohibited conduct in this policy describes categories, not an exhaustive catalog. Conduct of a similar nature is also prohibited, and we may act on it. Any action we take under this policy is without prejudice to our other rights and remedies, and the indemnity in our Terms of Service applies.

Reporting a breach, and changes

Report abuse, impersonation or a suspected breach to legal@hyro.to, or to security@hyro.to for anything involving security or fraud. We may update this policy at any time by publishing a new version on this page.
